Who am I?
I was born in rural Kent and educated at St Gregory’s Catholic school Tunbridge Wells. After studying Business and Finance I joined a local Stockbroker where I worked for 2 years. Leaving at the age of 20 I travelled to the Middle East where I assumed my first leadership role with 40 volunteers on a Kibbutz. I returned for a short time to the UK and then headed out to India where I learned to negotiate and cook curry. Subsequently I travelled, leading groups around Greece and back to the Middle East where I met my wife Jo.
My journey to Digital Optimisation
We eventually returned to the UK where I spent 5 years building an Email marketing and web hosting business which I sold at it’s peak to a larger company that could take the business to the next level.
During that time I helped around 1800 businesses on forums and over the phone to grow their micro start-ups from concept to income generating. I started split testing websites in early 2000’s on websites by tapping into peoples browser times and from there my fascination in conversion optimisation was born.
I was invited to work for Into The Blue Experience Days and given the challenge to grow the business by Search Engine Optimisation, Pay Per Click, Conversion optimisation and other techniques. Over the following 7 years the business went from strength to strength, I also overhauled all their internal IT systems making the business cloud-based and I worked alongside some great consultants from Accenture and Adobe who taught me their methodologies.
Moving to KashFlow.com I helped them scale the business rapidly by creating a marketing machine that drove sales in a way they had never experienced before. They subsequently got taken over for an undisclosed sum that was estimated in the tens of millions. KashFlow saw an increase of 286% during the first 21 months of my tenure there. When I left KashFlow I decided to help as many businesses as I could with what I had learned. So if I can’t help you I’ll say! (I recently turned down a deal worth over £100,000 as I didn’t feel the client was a good match).
I currently live in Kent with my wife and two children. Outside of work I can often be found doing one of my many passions including: Walking, reading, entertaining, learning photography, family activities and helping lead our local church.
